“Barack Hussein Obama” Mentioned in Ancient Manuscript?

I’ve seen a lot of oddities come across my desk from individuals looking to have Aramaic identified and translated. Pottery sherds, pottery shards (yes, there is a difference), incantation bowls, old Ketubahs that people find in their attics (my personal favorite), prayer books, jewelry, and even a copper scroll (not “The” Copper Scroll, but *a* copper scroll, no joke); but, when this came to me, I was a bit stunned. This is the very first time I have ever seen an artifact this unique.

It is a rather crumbling piece of papyrus that was once sealed with a wax impression. It is old. The handwriting and dialect unmistakably place the text as Imperial Aramaic.

At the top I can make out “ש[נת] ש[תי]תי ז[י] דריהוש מלכא” == “the si[xt]h [yea]r o[f] King Darius,” (placing it during the Persian Administration) and the rest of it seems to be dealing with matters of inheritance within a family.

However, in the meat of the document, I immediately came upon some trouble with the phrase “ברך הסין אובמה” which was sticking out in the middle of the text. It gave me some serious difficulty.

“ברך” is certainly from the root “to bless” and “אובמה” seemed to come from the root “יבם” (“to marry a brother’s widow”). Given this, I thought might be able to interpret “הסין” as the name “Hasin” and the context would be that this individual was cause to marry his brother’s widow to continue the family line under the blessing of the widow’s father.

However, this would require “יבם” to be in the Causitive form, specifically Aphel. Simply put, it couldn’t be in Aphel, given the dialect, and given other demonstrated use of the Haphel elsewhere (the Haphel Causitive didn’t become Aphel until after Imperal Aramaic).

After relaxing with a hot cup of tea and staring at that bit of text in context, I made the following strange connection:

ברך הסין אובמה
brk hsyn ‘wbmh
barak huseyn ‘owbamah

Even when writing this I’m still in a bit of shock. Am I seeing things? I feel that I’ve looked over that blasted YouTube video one too many times and that it’s affecting me in a horrible way. I’m going to try and get some photos of this up ASAP so that others can take a closer look before I take the time to properly photograph the document in high resolution.

Peace,
-Steve

PS: Today is his birthday, no? I need some sleep… This day has been too much.

PPS: First photo is up. Not only do I have poor light this time of the evening, but I now feel I need to upgrade my iPhone.

UPDATE ABOUT 6 YEARS LATER: If you haven’t “gotten” the joke here, please read this post. 🙂

  1. Come on, my dear Mr. Caruso. Do not let me loose the respect I have for you aramaic learning. With all due respect, Hussein in Mr. Obama´s name is arabic and must be written with heth and not hey and Hussein menas “very good” (origin: hassana – with heth not hey- q.i. be good, give forth goodness). So, please, attain to aramaic and give us a good translation.

  2. Peter,

Thank you for your input. I honestly find it very important to get the opinions of others about such a strange and unusual document such as this.

I do strongly suggest that you take a close look at the entirety of the text that I have posted here:

    The Manuscript Revealed!

This resemblance goes deeper than the small examples I have posted here can illustrate. 🙂

    Peace and thanks!

  3. Forgive me, I don’t know much about you but it seems you are a scientist of sorts, in the art of language. I am not remotely close to being a scholar of language, even though I do find it very fascinating. But I just wanted to point out that the best and most insightful scientists look for and accept the truth they find in their research, even when it means laying down all that they have thought and believed up to this point. If you discover something that challenges you, don’t disregard it just because someone else doesn’t like it. I didn’t like kyph’s comment “Don’t let me loose respect…” If he/she truly does respect you and thinks highly of your work then that person should also esteem your more challenging discoveries-even if they seem uncomfortable. I’m not saying that what you have found is true or if it is not. I haven’t the slightest clue. But don’t bow to social criticism.
Does this document show us something unexpected? Sure. Could it mean what you propose it may? Maybe. Maybe not. Would further analysis hurt? Of course not. We underestimate the Master Scientist/Master Artist/Master Linguist and Writer. Is it possible that THE CREATOR of all the beautiful and unfathomable complexities of this life is fully capable of creating a timeless literary document? If yes then, it’s possible. If no, then why not? If you are not GOD don’t question HIS possibilities and don’t doubt the talent HE has given you. Anonymous A

  4. Again whether a hey or a chet it is the transliterated sound that we are getting…not perfect spelling of someone’s name…I know a woman named Parris…she likes to think in Hebrew her name means Peretz…meaning to break forth to the right or left!!When speaking Hebrew many words loose their syllables…sounds running together so fast like Tzfed…or Shekhem…

  5. As we all know the New Testament in the Bible is originaly writen in Aramaic not in Greek.

Barack Hussein Obama is in Aramaic

    B(b=2) + R(r=200) + K(k=20) + K(k=20) +

    H(x=5) + U(w=6) + S(s=300) +
    EI(y=10) + N(n=50) +

    O(w=6) + B(b=2) +M(m=40) + H(x=5)

    = 666

    Revelation 13:18:

“This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.”

  6. The Bible means gematric Hebrew tradition ja Obama’s name is written here as it would be in Jesus’s time:

Barack Hussein Obama is in Aramaic / old Hebrew:

    B(b=2) + R(r=200) + K(k=20) + K(k=20) +

    H(x=5) + U(w=6) + S(s=300) +
    EI(y=10) + N(n=50) +

    O(w=6) + B(b=2) +M(m=40) + H(x=5)

    = 666

So this in correct. Believe or not!!

You bet I would like to talk with you after your class, but distance is about 6000 miles ;-D

Obama’s name is also mentioned in the other place of the Bible

    Luke 10:18

Here are the main points of analysis:

In Hebrew the concept for “lightning from Heaven or the Heights” the words used for this sentence is “Baraq “O” Baw-maw or Barack Obama

  7. No, seriously, your numbers are horridly wrong.

“Barack” comes from ברך (“barak” = BRK) not ברכך (brkk? – this isn’t a word!).

“Hussein” is Arabic, not Hebrew in origin. The Hebrew/Aramaic cognate would be חסן (“hasan” = “XSN”).

“Obama” would need an א at the beginning to be a long “O,” otherwise it’d be “W” (“Wabamah?” No. “Obama.”) so we’re looking at אובמה (“‘obamah” = “AWBMH”).

    B+R+K + X+S+N + A+W+B+M+H = 397

I do not hold an advanced degree in mathematics, but I’d hazard to guess that 397 is not equal to 666. 🙂

I also covered that ridiculous “lightning from the heights” video malarkey a long time back. The author knows nothing of any Semitic language I am aware of. Even if this were the case, then your gematria is off as well, as “lightning” is ברק (baraq), not ברכך (brkk) either. 🙂

So with all of this in mind:

Please put down your gematria chart and secret decoder ring and proceed to your nearest University to take some basic Hebrew classes before proceeding. 🙂

    Cordially,
    -Steve

  8. We have to write down name not some possible corresponding word. C ad K in Barack’s name is K and K.

I have been speaking about writing with other an very experienced Aramaic and Hebrew specialist and writing was correct. But the expert knew what this means and he didn’t want manifest himself in this matter.

You was wandering about translation of Obama’s English names:

    Barack in Arabic means “blessed”
    Hussein in Arabic means “handsome”
Obama is an African word meaning “leaning”

Applying old hebrew gematria values to these english words results in:

    “Blessed” 2+30+5+100+100+5+4= 246
    “Handsome” 8+1+50+4+100+60+40+5= 268
    “Leaning” 30+5+1+50+9+50+7= 152

    246 + 268 + 152 = 666

You have also third alternetive to calculate same result:

There are no vows in hebrew so

    obama= b=2 m=13 (1+3=4) so b=2 +m=4 =6

    barack= b=2 r=20 (2+0=2) no c k=11 (1+1=2) so b=2+r=2+k=2 =6

    hussien h=5 s=21(2+1=3) n=14(1+4=5) so h=5+ s=3+ n=5=13
    1+3= 4

At the end of his name. he is obama the second. so 664 + 2 and we get 666

BUT The Bible must mean the first alternative I mentioned.

Science has just now realised that New Testament was originally written in Aramaic/old Hebrew not in Greek. We don’t have original version of it, but we can study original Hebrew Old Testament and Greek translation and then we can ably same translations to to New Testament and study what realy New Testament is saying.

PS One odd occurance happened on the night Obama was elected. The pick 3 in the Illinois State lottery (Obama’s home state) was 6-6-6. The pick 4 was 7-7-7-9. All of those numbers are important biblical numbers. 666 stands for the anti-christ. 777 stands for holy completion and 9 stands for judgement.

Well I’m sure of Obama. We have other evidence also, but this was only language part of whole matter.

  9. Lol, no no you’re cherrypicking what letters to count *again.* Shame on you. 🙂

You have to count them properly and consistently, not drop ones you don’t want and add ones you do.

Nor change their values. You have:

“E” worth 10 in one place and 5 in another.

“S” worth 100 in one place and 3 in another.

This is not how gematria works. 🙂

I only ponder how much time you’ve wasted trying to shoehorn Obama’s name into some form of 666.

Shall I play this game too?

    What about *YOUR NAME*. 🙂

    u+s+k+o+v+a+i+n+e+n + k+r+i+s+t+i+t+t+y = 666
    (2+0+0)+(9+0)+(1+0)+(50)+(7+0+0)+1+9+(40)+5+(40)+(10)+(80)+9+(90)+100+9+100+100+(4+0+0)= 666

    Oh no!

    What about *MY NAME*?

    s+t+e+v+e+n + c+a+r+u+s+o
    90+100+5+(7+0+0)+5+40+3+1+80+200+90+50= 671

    But I’ve had 5 cups of coffee today so: 671 – 5 = 666!

    Oh no!

    What about Ronald Regan?

    http://home.mcn.net/~willfree/coincidence/reagan.htm

    Oh no!

Nearly any name can be shoehorned into 666.

In truth, it was probably referring to Nero (a contemporary figure) asנרון קסר adds up to 666, and the in the early Latin manuscripts it adds up to 612 (the Latin form of Nero’s name).

    So, my advice:

    1) Stop using a cheap gematria calculator online. You cannot apply gematria from one language to another language. It does not work. You’re changing your numbers and values as you go and ignoring letters in one place, only to include them somewhere else.

    2) את צריך מילף ללשנייא ארמייא ועברייא או תדע לא כלום

    3) “Science” (read: New Testament scholarship) has realized for a very long time that the New Testament has an Aramaic substratum to it. This is not news.

    4) Find another hobby. 🙂

If this continues, I’m deleting all of your comments here as they are now officially a distraction.

    Peace,
    -Steve

  10. We are now in endless conversation.

Aramaic was northern dialect of Hebrow in Jesus’s time. So Hebrew gematry is correct way to ably.

So as you mentioned Obamas name in your manuscript example and if we take account ck (official name) as kk in the calculation, everything matches.

I have consulted specialist in my home country. But result is the most sensitive one ;-D

Uskovainen kristitty means in English language christian believer. So I also take account other evidence. There is a lot of other evidence. Obama is the one. The time has come.

Peace for you and also blessings.

  11. Steve said about my name:

    u+s+k+o+v+a+i+n+e+n + k+r+i+s+t+i+t+t+y = 666
    (2+0+0)+(9+0)+(1+0)+(50)+(7+0+0)+1+9+(40)+5+(40)+(10)+(80)+9+(90)+100+9+100+100+(4+0+0)= 666

I haven’t use cheap gematria calculators, but now I used, because I was shocked about result shown here.

Ok It was a joke. I equals 2043 Ough!!

    uskovainen kristitty in Jewish Gematria Equals: 2043 ( u200 s90 k10 o50 v700 a1 i9 n40 e5 n40 0 k10 r80 i9 s90 t100 i9 t100 t100 y400 )

  12. “I haven’t use cheap gematria calculators,…”

Yes you did. You used this very page here:

    http://www.gematrix.org/?word=uskovainen+kristitty

Which gives the *exact* string you cut and pasted into your comment:

    uskovainen kristitty in Jewish Gematria Equals: 2043 ( u200 s90 k10 o50 v700 a1 i9 n40 e5 n40 0 k10 r80 i9 s90 t100 i9 t100 t100 y400 )

Down to the non-printing characters, too. Funny that.

Funny too that “S” is now also worth 90, on top of 100 and 3 (i.e. how you used it elsewhere). 🙂

You’ve been caught. Nice try. Thanks for playing.

At this point I will consider any further posts from you as junk and delete them accordingly. Full stop.

    Cordially,
    -Steve
