Apparently a demon in the latest episode of Sleepy Hollow spoke some Aramaic backwards… And Ichabod recognized it. “It’s Ancient Aramaic! ‘Ancetif will not be defeated.'”
Well… it wasn’t “Ancient” Aramaic, but Eastern Neo Aramaic (i.e. Modern Aramaic), either Assyrian Neo-Aramaic or Chaldean Neo-Aramaic.
But if you read it *AS* Ancient Aramaic (well, at least Classical Syriac) it’s kinda funny.
