Galilean Aramaic Lord’s Prayer Bracelet

Lord's Prayer Bracelet
(Prototype)

This is a piece that — if you’ve been following along on Facebook — we’ve been working on for a while now: It is a cast-pewter bracelet of the Lord’s Prayer in Galilean Aramaic.

And it feels magnificent in-hand.

Starting from the first segment, which is the one attached to the charm or “drop”, the prayer begins with (“Our Father who art in Heaven”) and continues downwards to the bottom of the sixth segment. Once the sixth segment is read, it is turned over, and the prayer continues to be read all the way back up to the other side of the first segment, which ends with the word .

There are only two real things that need to be done yet:

1) We need to find a better clasp. The one we’re currently using just doesn’t cut it. It’s impossible to fasten one-handed. However, the good news is that finding one that works is a simple process of testing and elimination.

2) You’ve probably noticed that the drop in these photos is nothing more than a cut-out paper placeholder. We need your help to choose what options to make available.

The current list of “stock” drops we’re considering include:

  1. An ichthys. (The fish symbol.)
  2. A plain cross.
  3. A Catholic cross.
  4. An Orthodox cross.

Custom drops will, of course, also be available, but what other ideas do you have?

(Common Observation: There are a couple of small differences in the rendition of the prayer on this bracelet from the version we have posted here on AramaicNT.org, but the variations chosen are discussed in the original article. There is no “one true way” to retro-translate anything, and as the translator refines his work and makes decisions about how things look and feel, he also refines his choices in rendition and presentation.)

Do You Mind Showing me the whole prayer on this bracelet in Aramaic In Hebrew Letters??

I am terribly sorry if I am asking way too much…I am just curious to see the Who Lords Prayer (Not the one in Luke) In Galilean Aramaic…
