Chaldean Archbishop Slain

A moment of silence for Paulos Faraj Rahho, an Archbishop in the Chaldean Catholic Church who was found murdered today, buried in a shallow grave in Mosul, Iraq.

The Chaldean Catholics are one of the few Christian denominations who use Syriac Aramaic in their liturgy, and it is estimated that up to 600,000 of them also speak a dialect of Neo-Aramaic (known as “Chaldean Neo-Aramaic”) as their vernacular or as a second language.
